On Monday the 14th April 2008 Freeview|HDTM
, A new digital terrestrial service was officially
launched , further expanding the options that Kiwis have to
access their favourite programmes in digital quality for free.
Freeview|HDTM provide's crystal clear digital
pictures and sound on all channels with the added bonus of
some of your favourite programmes broadcast in High
Definition.
Freeview|HDTM is available in Auckland,
Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North,
Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. That’s 75% of
New Zealand homes.
If you are outside of the coverage area you can
still get SD (digital) freeview from satellite using a
STB & satellite dish.
